Jeremy Corbyn reveals his eclectic music taste in a special show on Zoom this evening (7:30pm-8:30pm).

‘Castaway with Corbyn’ is a one-hour special on Labour Grassroots, in which the former Labour Leader selects his favourite nine pieces of music as well as three books.

Among Corbyn’s favourite musical artists are classical composer Gustav Mahler, reggae star Bob Marley, folk singer Maeve Mackinnon and Argentinian ‘Voice of the Voiceless’ Mercedes Sosa.

The idea for the show came after it was revealed that Corbyn never took part on ‘Desert Island Discs’ during his time as Labour leader.

Tickets are limited but some are available at the link below.

  1. This was a wonderful idea to have Mr Corbyn’s castaway tracks and commentary – unfortunately I missed this, please can you put up the recording if you made one so that those of us who missed it will have a chance to see it . Thanks

  2. A Different Kind Of Castaway.
Jeremy Corbyn proved himself to be a very different kind of “castaway”. This was an opportunity for Jeremy to let us all know what is feelings are regarding his beliefs and his passions, and I don’t think he left anyone in any doubt about his desires in life, both politically, and musically.

I don’t think he would have been self obsessed enough to allow the program to dwell on his own life, and so apart from his two years in Jamaica, Jeremy left us guessing.

A wonderful choice and a great miss for the BBC.
